For sale is one new handcrafted Mahogany-Guava Butcher Block End Grain Cutting Board 14 3/4" X 10 1/4" X 1-1/2 pictured above. Board was created with vertical aligned. Cut squares of heart and Sap wood. This process is quite material, time and labor consuming and is made this way for two specific reasons, the end grain takes abuse from knives and cleavers ten times better than the liner grain and, the end grain keeps Knife Blades Sharp Longer! End grain cutting boards are designed to last several lifetimes making them cherished daily use items. I'm now preparing all my cutting boards with hand carved edges. I decided to do this after making traditional boards with cut out hand holds for lifting...

I found these slots were very difficult to clean and food scraps always seemed to find their way into them. These carved edges are quite elegant and allow easy gripping of the heavy stable board while make it. Easy to slide the cut items off the board into containers... The board is put together with waterproof glue, finished to an exacting smooth level surface and then saturated with. FDA approved food grade mineral oil.

Made in America soft gripping rubber feet are then installed with stainless screws. Maintenance is quite easy for lifetime(S) of service!

Hand wash with hot soapy water, and towel dry. Once a month wipe the surface with food grade mineral oil and let rest overnight... Wash with warm soapy water and it's ready for another months work!
