Antique Butcher's Block Knife Sheath/Belt Leather Wrapped + Trade Knife 1800's

  
This antique butcher's block knife sheath/belt is a rare find for collectors of primitive tools. The leather-wrapped design and inclusion of a knife make it a unique addition to any collection. These are sometimes called skinning blocks as well as butcher blocks. It would have been worn by a butcher that would travel from place to place to butcher animals onsite for people.

I found this rare piece in a large barn in New Richmond Ohio. It had been in the family for generations.

It was pretty dusty when I pulled it out but it is in overall great condition considering the age and what it was used for.
