Table top only 25 1/2 deep. Full unit including legs is 26 1/2 deep. These originally would have been used to do lathe, grinding, filing, tapping, drilling, etc.
They are originally designed to be bolted to the wall and floor and the casting has brackets meant to accept wood plank for underneath shelving. These legs alone measure 31.5" tall by 26.25" deep and are in excellent condition. The wood butcher block is 2 thick by 6.5 feet long made by Williamsburg Butcher Block Co. The type of wood to me is unknown. Its on the darker side mixed in with some lighter color boards giving it that modern mid century walnut look. This came out of a kitchen and became the new table top for the legs, there are left over glue on underneath the wood... Chipped it away to make it leveled but didn't fully remove it since you cannot see it. This makes for a fun married piece that would make for a great industrial furniture in your home or a workbench in your garage....
I would just put a seal coating on it if you are going with option 2. There's a second bracket beneath the table top allowing room for a 2nd shelf to be bolted (6 holes on each bracket) on for added storage space.
The legs are seriously heavy duty and weigh about 60 lbs each! The item "Antique Industrial Table Cast Iron Machine Legs Williamsburg Butcher Block Top" is in sale since Thursday, May 13, 2021.
