Black Walnut, Teak, and Bocote End Grain Butcher Block - 16 3/8" l x 8 1/2" w x 1 1/2 h Handmade in the USA, finished with food safe, long lasting and water resistant Mahoney's walnut oil (3 coats) and wax (2 coats). Plantation-grown Teak (Tectonic grands), Native to Costa Rica and Central America, this tree is planted exclusively for forestry management, along with a high demand for this timber. Teak heartwood is a uniform golden brown without markings. Grain is usually straight to slightly wavy, and the texture is coarse, uneven and oily to the touch, sometimes with a white glistening deposit. Bocote is an exotic wood native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies. It features a wide range of grain patterns from straight to wild, with curved lines and swirls. The color ranges from golden brown to tan to golden yellow. It is a hard, heavy, and dense wood, strong and stiff, with a medium texture.
