Large Belgian Light Walnut Color Butcher Block with Marker's Plaque, circa 1880. A Belgian large size butcher block table with its maker's plaque, original brass or bronze hardware, two drawers.

This butcher block was crafted in Brussels during the later years of the 19th century. The rectangular well-worn top includes a knife holder in the back and is decorated with the maker's mark that reads "C Demeulemeester, Wyndgaardtstraadt, 71 - Gent". The sides are strengthened with corner braces. Two large dovetailed drawers adorn the apron and open thanks to their original ring pulls.
