A variety of species are available so you can pick a color and style that works for your space. Multiple finish options are also available, including stain from Hardwood reflections, varnishes, poly topcoats, or food safe mineral oils and conditioners. Alder is a relatively uniform light tan color and can be slightly reddish, with a fine straight grain pattern. Alder is a soft wood and very easy to machine, cut, and shape, making it ideal for applications where a lot of customization is needed, or a distressed look is desirable.
